Yes, I’ll reblog!
Cameron is a local kid I see around town and the auto parts shop I frequent. As I was cruising home for lunch today, I saw his blue and white #beetle on the side of the road. While he has enthusiasm, he is still learning about old cars- so as I figured, he wasn’t at the side of the road because he wanted to be. Timing, points adjustment, new plug wires and a carb adjustment later, that #1600 is getting him home! Considering I had nothing else going in this afternoon, I’m glad to see he got his car home. #vdubbin #veedub #newbeetle #stupidfuckingnewbeetle #dungbeetle
Who needs carfax when you have KFD? I missed the run-in with the repo man and that crazy night in Vegas with the midget strippers. @robmorr wanted a history lesson on a particular 944!
@oktobr: I found your six speed gearbox… #968 #porsche anybody curious about the wasserfour platform, the Cayenne/Torareg was not the first time the German Government intervened with the Porsche and Pietch families to make a vehicle. This 968’s origins was the late seventies, as Porsche was looking to field a replacement for the 911 and 912. The 912 was reintroduced after the 914 was discontinued. The 928 project had been started, as replacement for the 911. Cash strapped Porsche needed an entry level car. Audi had started the 924, but dropped it. Volkswagen needed a co-brandable “youth-oriented” sports car, and with the demise of air cooling on the horizon, and successful cobranding of the VW-Porsche 914, the #924 project was started. Porsche essentially took the project, with the anemic VW Truck four and released it in 1977, interestingly enough before the 928 project that preceded it. 1983 saw the iconic 944, with flared fenders and a true Porsche engine (if you say the Audi 5-cylinder one. more. time…!!!). 1986.5 saw the updated instrument cluster, 1987 saw the four valve engine, and a brief reintroduction of the 924, this time a refined 944 with the 2-valve engine and the bulge less fenders. I want to say 1992 was the introduction of the 968, the 3.0 four, and that coveted six speed box every #944 owner wants. I want to say 1600 or so 968s made it to our shores. Oh yeah, I saw this on base today, so #porthueneme and screw it, #oldschoolusdmhunter
